New Orleans has new digs!

April 15, 2010

Herzing University – New Orleans has moved its campus to a 17,000 sq. ft. building conveniently located in the Westland Shopping Center at 2500 Williams Boulevard in Kenner. The University serves students seeking bachelor’s and associate degrees and diplomas in technology, business, health care and public safety. The campus was previously located in about 12,000 sq. ft. of space located at 2400 Veterans Blvd.

“We are very excited to be working in our new campus, which will enable us to expand our healthcare and technology programs to serve students who are eager to gain the skills needed for these high demand careers,” said Mark Aspiazu, campus president of Herzing University – New Orleans. “This new campus provides an even more convenient and welcoming environment for career-focused students who want the supportive experience that Herzing offers to ensure that they complete their degrees as quickly as possible.”

The new campus includes more classrooms and a larger library than the previous facility. New computers and enhanced wireless capabilities are available to students for studying or taking courses online as part of the University’s flexible learning model that allows students to choose classroom, online or a combination of both options to suit their needs. State-of-the-industry medical laboratories are designed to enable experiential learning for students in healthcare programs such as surgical technology and medical assisting. A relaxation area for students has also been added at the new campus.

Herzing has been in New Orleans since 1996 after Henry Herzing incorporated the staff and students of Phillips Junior College into the Herzing family. Now serving over 360 students, Herzing University’s New Orleans Campus has been, and continues to be, a fine example of an alternative to large, impersonal classrooms.
